Privacy Policy
The short version: Fathom collects almost nothing about you, and sells none of it. Here's the longer version — it's still short.
What we collect
Reading Fathom does not require an account. To see how many people read Fathom and which stories land, we use Metricool and Google Analytics, two third-party analytics tools. They measure the shape of the audience — how many readers, which briefings, roughly where they came from — not who you are as a person.
If you sign up for the daily email or unlock Sounding, we store your email address with Brevo. Sounding access and the daily email are separate choices; unlocking Sounding does not subscribe you to the daily email.
If you register interest in membership, we store your email address, signup time, and consent to membership updates in Cloudflare D1. This separate interest list does not start a paid subscription, unlock extra questions, or subscribe you to the daily email. You can ask us to remove it.
Sounding sends your question, conversation history, and the page context to Google's Gemini API to generate an answer. Our Cloudflare D1 usage log records the time, page path, response status, model, and response duration, without saving question text or email addresses in that log. Your browser stores Sounding's access status and question allowance locally.
What we never do
We don't sell your data. We don't hand it to advertisers or data brokers. We don't track you from one site to the next. That isn't a phase — it's the point.
Your choices
Because we hold so little, there's not much to opt out of. But if you ever want to know what we have on you, or ask us to delete it, get in touch and we'll sort it out.
